BBOV Updated, Believe It or Not!
The Big Blogroll O' Vark®™©

BBOVThanks to all who submitted blogs for consideration. Most of these came courtesy of their authors but a few were recommended by others. This time around, we add thirteen Lutheran sites while making changes to four existing entries. I also made two deletions — one from the Lutherans and one from the Other Blogs list. Entries continue to cover a wide range of theological and personal turf. Pick through the newbies and give the changes another read; maybe some of them will become new favorites. Also, please welcome the newbies to the Big Blogroll O' Vark®™©.

If you're not sure what to make of the BBOV or wonder about the benefits of being listed and of listing others' blogs, please read the first three links under Aurous Effluence in the sidebar. Those who'd like the Big Blogroll O' Vark®™© can either email me or copy the list from the Alley's source code (click View | Page Source or Control+U in Firefox or View | Source in Internet Explorer).

BY WAY OF INTRODUCTION

New from Dawning Realm, Agapē Enthroned "explores what Martin Luther recognized in the Apostles' Creed as the distinctive core of Christianity."

The Augustana Ministerium Weblog expands the ability of The Augustana Ministerium to keep us posted on its activities.

Does the Shoe Fit? asks this "pastor's wife who homeschools her brood of 9."

New Jersey layman Drew Lomax writes Ex Uno Disce Omnes (From One We Can Judge the Rest). Drew says that after testing "the waters of many 'main-stream' denominations," he could find nothing coming close "to the clarity and correctness of Orthodox Lutheran Christianity."

Farewell to Shadowlands takes its name from the final chapter of The Last Battle, C. S. Lewis' concluding book of The Chronicles of Narnia. Owner James Paulgaard is a pastor in Langley, British Columbia.

Pastor Robert Franck writes Franck Flotsam and also contributes to Four and Twenty+ Blackbirds.

Happenings includes "sermons, announcements, articles, and videos from Pastor Walter Snyder of Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Congregation." This covers just about anything that he doesn't post at Ask the Pastor.

Layman James Sarver of Tulsa, Oklahoma points his readers to Liturgical East, a call to focus on Christ and His work of salvation as we face His altar in worship.

The Rev. Jason P. Peterson is Preaching Among the Harvesters from his pulpit in Burt, Iowa to the farthest reaches of the internet.

Pastor David Oberdieck confesses and teaches Quia Creeds. Of creeds, he writes, "Every church and every person has a creed. Is the creed based on your opinion or is it derived from Christ's Word?"

I list St. Charles Place among the new entries since it's been on hiatus for such a long time.

Spiritus Gladius — the Sword of the Spirit — is "the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17)" It's also a blog of Pastor Paul Beisel.

Greg puns on his own name as the Watchful One while also inviting his readers to ""be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. (1 Corinthians 16:13)"

DIFFERENT ... YET NOT

Scot Kinnaman's Blog My Soul now has a new URL, as do Katie's Beer, Paul Beisel's One Lutheran ... Ablog™, and that "cogent mélange of Lutheran & pop-culture punditry" known as Territorial Bloggings. Meanwhile Pr. Jason Peterson renamed Theology from the Inverted Mind of a Lutheran, also giving it a new URL: Lutheran Reformission.

THE WAY OF ALL FLESH ... AND OF MANY BLOGS

Finally, we come to the deletions. Jim Pierce says that he's too busy to do justice to his blog and says that was the reason for pulling the plug on Confessional's Bytes. Meanwhile, after it went ten months without an update, I decided to remove Theology Blogs from the Other Blogs section.

LAST WORDS

For all those enrolled in the BBOV, links back are certainly appreciated. And don't forget that all of those listed benefit when you use the entire blogroll. Also, if you'd like to graphically point to the Alley and the Big Blogroll O' Vark®™©, you may use the above design from St. Charles the Illuminous or one of these blog buttons:
Each of these buttons measures 80x15 pixels. Should you choose to use one, please link back to either the main Aardvark Alley URL or else to the post What Is the BBOV.

Finally, if you own or know of a Lutheran blog demonstrating a quia confessional subscription and would like me to consider it for inclusion, please leave a comment. And again, for more information about why this stuff benefits confessional Lutheran blogging, morality, and other worthwhile endeavors, please check out the first three links under Aurous Effluence in the sidebar.

Comments:
I believe I left this comment somewhere else on your blog, but I thought leaving it on a more recent post couldn't hurt.

I'd like you to consider adding my congregation's blog to your list:

The Blog of St. Mark

Thanks for considering!

Grace and peace,
Pastor Benjamin Tomczak

My blog Confessional's Bytes is back on line. My readership wouldn't let me go that easy. :) Of course, now they might have to suffer from a few articles over Greek verbs and conjugations as I am spending more time studying Koine and theology these days.

So, when the time comes I will send you an email asking if you could please put my blog back onto your roster. I don't think my readers will let me take it down anytime soon. :)

Thank you very much for announcing my new blog.

I just started a blog discussing mostly church music, focusing mainly on what is preached by the text. I appreciate your consideration.

My Raison d’être
The aardvark is a "down & dirty" critter that spends its life rooting yucky things out of their dark haunts and feasting on their carcasses. Nuff said?
