Hurricane Assistance
You don’t have to be part of The Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod in order to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina through LCMS World Relief and Human Care. This branch of the Synod is actively soliciting donations, working with Thrivent Financial Services for Lutherans for matching funds, providing information about current and future aid operations, offering bulletin inserts to interested people, and showing a short video from Director Matthew Harrison at the Mercy Network.
They’ve also begun compiling a list of potential housing providers and offer a a link button for online contributions. Contact information to volunteer for service in the storm-damaged area or to receive displaced families is also available.
